Ray is a director / cinematographer who has been working in the film industry for 13 years. In 2021 he released his debut short film (True Love) and more recently, has been making commercials with company Collider.

Coming off an award winning career as a cinematographer of 7 years (Al Guilford emerging cinematographer, Cousins feature film, commercials, short film and multiple music videos).

Ray looks to bring that knowledge and talent to directing his own creative projects like Hotel Matipo (Series in development), Ace (Short film in post production) and feature films and more commercials in the future.

Ray grew up in the bay of plenty New Zealand, around the marae and his maori culture. He is a fluent speaker of his native language, and an active member of his community, in his iwi of Te Whakatohea.
Telling stories that are meaningful in a human way is really important to Ray, and having the room to create, explorative and have fun in the making of things to come.
