Founder, Compadres
Clive was born into a third-generation farming family from South-West Western Australia. At nine years old, he had four side hustles: lawnmowing, farm work, milk delivery, and working in a supermarket. This energetic and entrepreneurial pattern has been maintained. At 16 he had written, produced, and directed his first television show for GWN, a Seven Network affiliate. At 25 he launched Australia's record-breaking revenue-earning Comedy Channel as its Creative Director, overseeing both its creative and advertising revenue. He was also one of the youngest producers of The ARIA Awards. By his thirtieth birthday, Clive had gained a record 30 international awards from the New York Festivals and Broadcast Designers Association, among others.
Clive served as an advisor and board member of many organizations, including Rare Birds and Start Up Business Kids, Global Citizen, and more recently Welleco.
He worked with, and was able to interact with, some of Australia's most influential business leaders through the Young Presidents Organisation (YPO). He was even the chair of YPO Forum for three years, in which he helped CEOs with growth and development and supported them in solving personal, familial, and corporate issues.
He has founded or been a founding partner of ten organizations. Seven of these profitable, but his greatest success story is TCO. Upon selling it to WPP, he was able to generate an 10x return on net profit margin.
He's proud of business accomplishments as an independent entrepreneur. Through innovation and hard work, being able to win clients away from massive marketing conglomerates. Notably, setting up the first "Digital Acceleration Team" for Nestle, which was eventually deployed in 29 countries worldwide.
Clive has had the privilege of seeing many of his former staff go on to have distinguished careers, with some even starting their own successful businesses. His encouragement and faith in their abilities has given them the confidence to pursue their goals.
Clive takes great joy in helping others and has been a devoted fundraiser for charities such as Oz Harvest. He is immensely proud to be the founding partner of Global Citizen, which is involved in ending extreme poverty and has pledges of $50 billion. Furthermore, he is one of the select few to have a contract with UNICEF's headquarters in New York, allowing Clive the opportunity to focus on ending violence against children in Europe, Latin America, and Africa.
The businesses he has built have been associated with University Education, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Financial Technology (FinTech), Arts and Entertainment, Beverages, Medicine, Technology, Telecommunications, Retail, Real Estate, Broadcasting, Live Performances, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) and Non-Profit Organizations (NPO), Political and Election Campaigns, and he has been affiliated with Heads of State, Government Ministers, Political Decisions-Makers, Senior Corporate Management, and Chief Executive Officers (CEO).
He embraced life in his late forties, relocating his homeschooling children to the peaceful countryside. He dedicated himself to diverse interests including breeding wagyu beef, horse riding, and investing.
After 20 years leading and founding businesses and philanthropic organisations in Australia and around the world in 2023, he has now focussed his passion for helping others succeed in life and business as Founder of Compadres, a next generation Business Growth Practice. Clive works with visionary Entrepreneurs and Leaders in London, New York, Los Angles and Australia across a kaleidoscope of verticals, leading business circa $500m.
